Ending the Season Strong

As our season is nearing the end, we are hoping to finish off the season really strong. We have 4 more league games to tune up for the Association Cup that begins on March 12. We have the talent to contend for the championship. If we maintain proper shape on the field, it is very hard to score on our team. In recent weeks, we have become a much more balanced offensive team with everyone getting into the scoring act. The critical areas where we need to do improve are ;
1) move up and back down the field together, 2) stop giving the ball away with a careless pass or by over dribbling, and 3) deny opponents from the quick counter attack.

I am extremely proud of our Revolution team. All the teams that we have played this season have been extremely complimentary about the skill, athleticism and toughness of our team. There are no real weakness on our entire roster. A championship team is always built with a great defense. The guys in the back line never get enough credit for their consistent play or for their outstanding skill because their work doesn't usually result in a goal. However, a single mistake by these men can cost the game.

The player with the greatest impact on our team the last couple of months has been Daniel Keifer. Daniel played extremely well, particularly in the second half of the season, as a midfielder. He is a tough defender but has also scored some timely goals. However, when Oscar went down to injury, Daniel volunteered to play the goal-keeper position. He has done a remarkable job with limited practice in the box. Without his dynamic job in goal, the Revolution would have really suffered. Daniel is the man.
